Smooooth Running:
Like last year, Barry Boyette will be on hand to perform prop balances on site if you need one. Look for him! $250 fly-in special will get a fixed pitch or constant speed prop done on site.

NOTICE!!!  Hurricane Ike:
High winds sustained damage to many trees fallen, predominantly in the picnic/camping areas, during the storm.  We will be unable to get a logger in to remove these prior to the fly-in.  Some effort will be made to top these trees, but substantial volunteers with extra chainsaws are needed.  The trails are also blocked.  Please call to arrange when to come over or the camping areas will be limited.  If you have a loader-tractor and can trailer it in to help it would be welcome.  Sometimes just one is not enough.
 
SIGN UP!!!  Volunteers needed prior to fly-in:
 The following tasks need additional volunteer work prior to the fly-in, and prior to the work-weekend.  Please call (936-369-4362) to arrange a time to come over and help out.  Due to setbacks from Hurricane Ike and Marcia's bad leg, We are in desperate need of help this year:
 
Build Registration Canopy:  supplies are in, need carpentry skills.
Install Bridge Railing:  supplies not purchased yet.  Carpentry skills needed for those unafraid to get wet.
Build kitchen work table & shelves.  Inside carpentry job.  Can you lay Formica?
Paint empty bottles blue and orange.
Paint runway end tires.
Create more runway camp sites, clear brush.
Locate and fill holes, runway side and camp areas
Clean out porta-johns:  bring pressure washer, ours is out.
Repair picnic tables
Cleanup and organize kitchen:  (Marcia is recovering from broken leg.)
Wood chipper operator.  Bring rakes and wheelbarrow.

There will be LIMITED fuel available on the field this year.  Fuel is available nearby at Cherokee County, Henderson, and Nacogdoches airports.
