Flying M Ranch Flyin Information

$5.00 per adult, $20 max fee per family, age 16 and under free. Saturday only attendance.

$10.00 per adult, $20 max fee per family, age 16 and under free for overnight campers/weekend guests

Pets are welcome, but must be on a restraint, and kept under control.

Aircraft camping is provided along the tree line WEST of the runway, and WEST of the picnic area by using the taxiway between the trees. Aircraft not camping may park in a line along the runway but not in front of hangar.Recreational vehicles should enter at the main driveway south of the fly-in gate. You must be cleared of aircraft traffic by a flagman before crossing the south end of the runway. Motorhomes & trailers with generators MUST park in front of house or SOUTH of the driveway. !Remain clear of the runway! Trailers without generators may park in the wooded area north of the hangar remaining clear of the runway. Large motor homes should park in front of the house where the ground is more firm. PLEASE: NO motorhome/trailer parking on EAST side of runway NORTH of the hangar beyond the orange markers, or on the WEST side of the runway.

Auto-tent camping may be in any area, but farther in from flight line camping spaces. Phones and water taps are available in the picnic area and the hangar area. Privately owned porta-potties are provided in the camping areas and by the hangar. (...and maybe a shower this year!)

Bring campfire goodies and spooky stories for Friday & Saturday night: forest fire conditions permitting!

*** SOME NOTES OF CAUTION FOR YOUR SAFETY ***

All air traffic must enter / use left hand pattern, including fly-bys and foto flights. Monitor 122.9 for traffic. Remember some aircraft may not have radios, so stay alert!
Please, no "buzzing" of local homes and farms. (We've had complaints!)
Ultralights and gyro-copters may turn right after takeoff and stay to the right of the runway, not over the runway, for your flying - once you are ready to land please enter the normal left hand pattern altitude (1110' msl) and follow behind all aircraft in sequence for landing. When taxiing for landing or takeoff you must also follow other aircraft in sequence.
All planes are to taxi on the west side of the runway and follow the flagman's instruction. *** NO INTERSECTION TAKEOFFS *** This is for safer operation and to allow for incoming and outgoing traffic, less tie-ups. No low aerobatics, please. Any abrupt maneuvers or aerobatics in the pattern will not be tolerated. However, we do encourage fly-bys, Young Eagles rides, and buddy rides.
Be aware of moving aircraft on the ground! Look for aircraft landing or taking off before crossing runway and expedite your crossing - cross only at marked crossing with flagman's okay (between hangar and front row of planes on the southwest side). Children must have adult supervision at all times for safety's sake.
Pilots *** please shut down engine before loading/unloading passengers***
When camping or parking aircraft, remember trees do occasionally shed limbs. A central campfire for all is provided in the picnic area. (bring your marshmallows and best campfire stories!) Please no individual fires. Self-contained camp stoves / lanterns / heaters / may be used.
This is a natural forest area - please use normal caution during camping or hiking around poison ivy / oak, falling branches, holes in the ground, thorny vines, creepy crawlies, etc. You may even see deer, and other wildlife, which are native to this property.

Trophies awarded at Saturday awards dinner: oldest/youngest pilot, oldest / newest aircraft, farthest distance, newest pilot… door prizes, and other good stuff. Winners must have flown in as PIC to this fly-in and must be present to win. Other club trophies and door prizes welcome!!!

If you have an airplane and wish to take aerial pictures of the fly-in on Saturday, showing the largest group of planes on the ground around 1:pm for our Flying M photo album and video - we will gladly pay for the film. You will be doing us a great favor! Check with the registration desk.

Volunteer pre-fly-in work days: Oct. 18 - 19 rain or shine, or call ahead to help anytime.

Upon arrival please register so we can have you on our mailing list for next year.

Transportation to several motels provided by private or chartered bus is free. The bus will depart and arrive by the hangar area. A posted schedule of the times will be on display at the registration table, and on the bus. Please be on time as the bus will be on a tight schedule.

Be sure to specify at the motels when you call in your reservations, that you are with the fly-in, so that you will receive these special rates. The motels have asked that you be sure to cancel your reservation if for any reason you can't come. Also, call your motel when you first arrive at our fly-in to let them know you are here, and to hold your room.
